Zach Weismann
- After graduating with a Masters in Professional Accounting (MPA), Zach Weismann took a job with one of the Big 4 accounting firms. A year into the job, Zach wasn’t feeling fulfilled and knew that accounting and finance wasn’t right for him. His strong passion for advocating on social and environmental issues was pulling him in another direction. It was then Zach packed his bags and moved to rural Peru to work in the field with local communities on health and water sanitation issues. This was an experience of a lifetime and taught him more than he could have imagined. After this successful trip to Peru, Zach was focused on doing more meaningful work in the social impact space. Zach’s remarkable accomplishments come from working with NGOs, Fortune 500 companies, healthcare organizations and startups on key issues such as conservation, sustainability, and innovation. Some of his results include working with the NBA, Google, and Sir Richard Branson and Virgin to protect endangered species through global awareness campaigns - culminating in the 2018 ban of sale and trade of illegal elephant ivory in China, a huge and critical milestone, and collaborating with sustainability and social impact leaders from around the world from companies such as Unilever, Coca-Cola, Target, IKEA, and more. With influential social impact work under his belt, Zach relocated back to Dallas and started his own company, MAG Impact Collective. MAG, brings together experts in the areas of branding, strategy, and design to serve clients in a more effective and efficient way, matching the right team to the right project to achieve the greatest impact. MAG stands for Magnify, Accelerate, and Generate as the collective works to magnify brands, accelerate progress and helps clients generate true social impact. After tragically losing his mother to cancer in 2014, the letters MAG are also the initials of Zach’s mother to honor her legacy. In addition to launching MAG, Zach serves as a Board Member on the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) who work with med schools and med students all around the world. In his spare time, Zach spends a lot of time playing hide and seek, peek-a-boo, and daddy be a horsey with his two young sons. (He’s really good.)
